Washington is one of those teams that is getting a lot of hype as the season approaches.
They have some intriguing talent that got their feet wet a year ago and with a top coach there is no telling where this program can go.

There is no such enthusiasm for Rutgers this season.
They have brought in a new coach but the talent level in New Jersey is nowhere near where it needs to be for them to compete in the B10. All they can hope for this season is to build a solid foundation.
Rutgers Scarlett Knights
Rutgers is going back to square one with new coach Chris Ash. It is one of those situations where improvement may not be measured in wins and losses and there are likely to be a lot of the latter.
The best chance they have against Washington is to try and pound away at the Huskies with their experienced offensive line and running backs.

If they are going to scare the Huskies they have to bottle up the running game of Washington.
Their greatest amount of experience on defense is on the line. That was the strength of the team and year ago as they were terrible against the pass.
Adding a grad transfer from Michigan is not going to suddenly make that unit better but putting Washington in tough spots might.
Washington Huskies
The Huskies definitely look like a team on the rise but I am not ready to corronate them just yet.
Jake Browning and Myles Gaskin were the best quarterback and running back freshman duo in the nation so it is natural that many are salivating over what the could achieve as sophomores.
This is an easy start to the season.

Last year the defense was the better unit on the team yielding just 18ppg. Even though they lost some NFL talent eight returning starters should have that unit as good as last year.
Washington had trouble closing out close games a year ago but I don’t see this one as being close after the first quarter.

Free Week 1 NCAA Football Prediction
The Huskies should jump all over Rutgers in the opener. The lines says this should be a blowout and the final result may look more like an FCS game than one between two Power 5 programs.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Washington -26
Washington is the better team in every facet of the game and it won’t take long for them to show it. You should feel comfortable with this one by halftime.
