The Week 1 slate of College Football closes out with one of the best matchups of the week.
#12 Ole Miss and #4 Florida State kick their seasons off in a game with BCS Playoff implications. Despite it being so early in the season, a win here can be a marquee one that will look impressive throughout the entire season.
#12 Ole Miss Rebels
The Rebels will certainly know their fate in terms of the BCS Playoff race early on this season.
Ole Miss starts things off with the #4 Seminoles and also have dates with #1 Alabama and #16 Georgia in what is basically a make or break stretch.

The good news for Ole Miss is that they return one of the best QBs in the SEC. Chad Kelly threw for over 4000 yards last season and had 31 touchdowns as he had some big time plays last season against some of the best in the nation.
That however, is about it in terms of star returning offensive players for the Rebels. They lost a top offensive lineman in Laremy Tunsil and a top receiver in Laquon Treadwell.

With a lot of gaps in the offense, the Rebels will rely on Kelly to make his players better. They will have a pair of backs that can run downhill and do some damage.
Senior Akeem Judd and junior Jordan Wilkins both were in backup roles last season, but did see a lot of touches in the offense.
Both Judd and Wilkins averaged more than 5.0 yards per carry as they aren’t going to hit you with breakaway speed, but certainly can run you over and wear defenses down.
The Rebels will have to start slow here. A lot of gaps need to be filled and a lot of players need to get their feet wet.
This isn’t the most ideal first game, but with a leader like Kelly, a little early momentum could relax a lot of players.
#4 Florida State Seminoles
The Seminoles look poised and ready for a title run this season. They have plenty of pieces than will come together to make one of the best teams in the nation.
It all starts with RB Dalvin Cook. The junior comes in off a season that saw him rumble for 1691 yards on the ground, and have nearly 2000 all-purpose yards.
Cook averaged over 7 yards a carry himself while the Seminoles as a whole put up 141 yards per game on the ground.

The QB situation will be the most interesting one to watch. Senior QB Sean Maguire figures to be the head guy, but the Seminoles have a lot of underclassmen underneath him to work with.
Should Maguire struggle early, don’t be surprised if the string is pulled on him and the Seminoles look elsewhere.
Defensively, DeMarcus Walker will return after wavering back and forth with the decision to go to the NFL. Walker had a career high in tackles last season with 58, 15 tackles for loss, and 10.5 sacks.
Florida State has a lot more returning pieces than Ole Miss. Look for them to try to get out quickly and really set the tone with Cook.
Putting the pressure on the Rebels, who will have a lot of nervous players, can force a lot of mistakes.

Look for the Seminoles to get out fast here and really force the issue. If Cook can open some gaps early, the play action pass could do wonders for this team.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Florida State -4.5
The FSU defense will really try to make things uneasy for Kelly, as he is the major key to the success of the Rebels offense.
