The Cowboys are in the hunt for the playoffs and will be until they lose. That is not supposed to happen this weekend but it is Halloween.

Texas Tech is doing its usual thing of beating bad teams and piling up numbers. This would be a big win for the program.
Oklahoma State
The Cowboys are undefeated. Its impressive but they are also the lowest ranked undefeated Power 5 team in the rankings, a good indicator of what was expected from this group.
This team is not spectacular in any one area but at the same time they appear to have no glaring weaknesses. If they are truly elite they have the best schedule in the B12 to make a run, they host all the other top teams.

One of the things that sets the Cowboys apart is that they are not dependent on any one star player, like they have been in the past. QB Mason Rudolph is having a nice season while at the same time former starter J.T. Walsh leads the team in rushing TDs.
The defense has been very good, they are giving up less than 20ppg, while ranking in the top third of the country in all of the major statistical categories.
Texas Tech
Unfortunate for Red Raiders fans the program has become very predictable. They are going to throw for a whole bunch of yards and lose to the better teams in the league – this year that would be Baylor, TCU and Oklahoma.
This game would have been a swing game at the beginning of the season but now it is a whole lot more given the strength that Oklahoma State has displayed so far. The
Texas Tech program needs this one.

The one thing I will give Coach Kingbury credit for is that they know who they are and are trying to play to their strengths. They are not going to try and play physical football out there on Saturday. They will do what they do and if they avoid mistakes, who knows.
Looking at the number this one is expected to be tight. Tech hasn’t won in the series since 2008.
