The NC State Wolfpack are travelling to Louisville this Saturday to take on the #7 Cardinals.
The Wolfpack have played well so far this season but are in the middle of one of the toughest two game stretches any team will face this year.
They are coming off a close loss to the #4 Clemson Tigers last week in Death Valley.
The Cardinals have been great this season on both sides of the ball.
Many people believe that they were knocked out of the ACC Championship running and playoff contention with the Clemson loss. But with some help, the Cardinals still believe they could compete for a National Title.
North Carolina St. Wolfpack
NC State has surprised many people this year in how well they have played in a very tough schedule.
They defeated Notre Dame two weeks ago in what was basically a monsoon and were competitive until the end against Clemson.
They real mark against them was a 33-30 loss to East Carolina in Week 2, but they have improved greatly since.
NC State has a balanced offense that has scored 31.2 points per game this season. Quarterback Ryan Finley has thrown for 1,272 yards with nine touchdowns and only two interceptions.
Running back Matthew Dayes leads the rushing attack with 669 yards and four touchdowns.
The defense has been even better and is what has set them apart from competition. They allow only 18.7 points per game which is 18th in the nation.
#7 Louisville has been the funnest team to watch since destroying Charlotte in the first half of Week 1.
Not only have they put up over 59 or more in three of their six games, the defense allows only 24.3 even though about a third of the season has been garbage time for the other team to put up stats.
What else can I say about Lamar Jackson?
He is a force of nature and looks like he should be wearing a cape on the field. He has scored more touchdown by himself than over half of the TEAMS in football this year.
He has thrown for 1,806 yards and 15 touchdowns and run for 832 yards and 15 more touchdowns. North Carolina State knows who they need to stop in this game, but so has every other team the Cardinals have faced.

Free Week 8 NCAA Football Prediction
NC State has been better than expected in the ACC this year.
They played Clemson very well last week and lost by only one score. However, their other quality win (or what we thought was at the time) was against Notre Dame.
Now that we have seen what Notre Dame really is, it doesn’t look so great. They also lost to a team they should have beaten in East Carolina.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Louisville -18
I hate to pick any team as an 18 point favorite in any ACC game, but Louisville is just that good this year.
NC State will have no answer for Lamar Jackson and their running backs, and Louisville’s defense should be able to shut the Wolfpack down.
