The Hilltoppers started their season off with a win over an SEC foe and will look to a weaker non-conference opponent before they get into the meat of their conference schedule.
Quarterback Brandon Doughty is leading the way for the Hilltoppers posting a 166.5 quarterback rating through three starts.
They’ll be up against a Redhawk defense that has struggled recently giving up 95 points in their last two games.
The Hilltoppers were one of the top offenses in the FBS last season and have picked up where they left off last season after struggling a bit in their first game against Vanderbilt.

The Redhawks offense can move the football and have the ability to break off a big play or two. But they’ll have to figure something out to slow down the Hilltoppers if they want to keep it close.
Miami (OH)
The problem for the Redhawks last season was defense. They surrendered 30 or more points in 8 of their 12 games.
They started off this season giving up just 7 in Week 1 but that was in a matchup with Presbyterian.
Their last two games against Wisconsin and Cincinnati brought to light the same reason they struggled in 2014.
Up against a high powered Hilltopper attack, the Redhawks better hope they have figured some things out this week in practice.
We’ll likely see Drew Krummer at quarterback for the Redhawks who despite his struggles completing passes consistently did throw for 3 touchdowns last week.
[dfads params=’groups=226&limit=1&return_javascript=1′]
The Redhawks offense may look as good or better than their performance last week against Cincinnati. Western Kentucky defense typically struggles.
After the Redhawks gave up 58 points in Week 2 against Wisconsin, they had to think that was the worst it could get. But if they don’t show strong on Saturday the Hilltoppers might hang more than that on them.
Western Kentucky
The Hilltopper offense has to be drooling as their matchup with the Redhawks awaits. They know that they can put it up against anyone.
Facing a team that could pose little resistance has to have their minds on a historical performance.
Last season, Doughty threw for 8 touchdowns in their 67-66 overtime win against Marshall. While that mark may be safe because the Hilltoppers won’t find themselves in a shootout, we will likely see a very impressive performance from Doughty.

This is the type of matchup that when you look at the line, you wonder if Vegas knows something we don’t know. The Hilltopper offense is one of the best in the FBS. The Miami defense has looked like one of the worst.
Western Kentucky – led by Doughty – should be very entertaining to watch in this one.

Free Week 4 NCAA Football Prediction
While the Hilltoppers offense has been good, they still aren’t quite at their stat level from last year when they averaged 44 points per game. The Hilltoppers will have a chance to raise their scoring average for the year against the Redhawks. This one could get ugly.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: WKU -20.5
Doughty is the best passer the Redhawks will face this year and let’s hope for their sake they don’t get caught admiring. But he will do his thing. And the Hilltoppers will roll.
