The ACC is generating a lot of headlines this season, mostly thanks to Louisville.
Miami is lying quietly below the radar but the look improved and might be the last thing standing between the juggernaut Cardinals and a trip to the playoffs.

Georgia Tech tried to insert themselves into national relevance last week but fell flat losing to Clemson 26-7, at home.
They need to regroup quickly or else any hope they have of a division title could be over this week. They lost to the Canes last year.
Miami Hurricanes
So far so good in the Mark Richt era at the “U”. Three easy wins and covers has many believing that this is the best team in the ACC Coastal and they can make their first true step to that goal with a win on Saturday against Georgia Tech.
They have had an extra week to prepare for this one but also can’t get caught looking ahead to hosting Florida State next week. No team is allowing fewer points than the Canes so maybe the defense is back.

On offense Miami has been able to have great balance. Brad Kaaya is probable with a knee injury but at the same time the Canes are able to run the ball better than they have in some time. Mark Walton and Joseph Yearby are a dynamic duo.
The fact that you have to respect the run means that Kaaya can hit big plays in the play action passing game.
For now, everything is working down in Miami.
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
This will be Tech’s third conference game, which could be an advantage over untested Miami.
It was no great surprise that they lost to Clemson last week but they were completely shutdown offensively. They did not even crack 100 yards on the ground which is practically unheard of for Paul Johnson’s option offense.
Justin Thomas did not have a good day running or throwing last week so this will be a testament to his resilience.

Despite the loss to the Tigers the Tech defense showed well last week giving up just 26 points and that has been a pattern this season.
Miami’s scheme is not complicated, the question is whether the Yellow Jackets have the athletes and can maintain the discipline they need throughout the game…especially if the offense struggles again.
They have won only one of their last six against the Hurricanes.

The numbers get a bump here with GT coming off a loss but I think it is pretty fair. Tech did not look good last week at home and now here comes Miami with loads of time to prepare and film from the Tigers game on how to stop them.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Miami -7
Only two of the last ten in this series have been decided by less than a TD. A couple of weeks ago everyone saw the Miami game vs App State as being either a FG or a blowout.
The latter won and I think that is going to be a pattern they repeat throughout the season save games against the truly elite – which their might not be on their schedule.
