Auburn doesn’t bring back their starting QB for 2014 but many think that this year’s starter – Jeremy Johnson – may be better than Nick Marshall. That is no disrespect to Marshall as he was a great dual-threat quarterback for Auburn’s offensive style. Louisville will be improved under Bobby Petrino and Petrino’s experience in the SEC should help take the “scare” of playing an SEC team away just a bit.

Louisville
In 2014, Louisville was the third-ranked rushing defense in the FBS. They will face one of the best running teams in the country to start off the 2015 season.
They do only bring back five starters from that 2014 defense though.
So the inexperience that Auburn will have to deal with could also be an issue for the Cardinals.
Petrino has been keeping his starting quarterback quiet to this point.
He has said that he knows who it will be and feels confident but will not reveal who it is until game time.

Whoever starts the game will have their hands full right away. The most important thing will be to protect the football.
Louisville has a very strong defense but if the offense turns the ball over, the Cardinals won’t stand a chance of stopping the Tigers on a short field.
Auburn
Johnson has the tools to put up a very strong case for the Heisman trophy this year. He has weapons around him, an incredible running ability, and the offensive playbook that perfectly fits his style of play.
A lot of players will take the field Saturday in the Georgia Dome for the first time in an Auburn jersey. They have some incredibly talented players but also inexperienced.
By late season, Auburn will be one of the best teams in the country and could very easily find themselves in the College Football Playoff. Their young guys will need some time to adjust though.
Any inexperience will be shown in the first and fourth quarters. The talent will come out in the middle two.
They have enough talent to find a way to win this game. It will just be a matter of how quickly they can adjust to the big stage and how many mistakes they will make getting to that level.

Week 1 Free NCAA Football Prediction
SEC teams have learned over the years that non-conference losses can’t happen if they have any big time postseason aspirations.
This is a year that Auburn has a realistic chance at a spot in the College Football Playoff. They will not let an early season showdown with Louisville at the Georgia Dome get in the way.
Johnson and the talented, yet inexperienced Tigers will beat Louisville.
The Petrino factor and the strength of Louisville’s defense will be enough to keep this one close.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Louisville +11
Louisville doesn’t have much of a chance to win this game but they have a good chance to keep within 10. Maybe even a backdoor cover on a late touchdown in this one.
