The Michigan Wolverines are currently ranked 3rd in the country and they will look to remain undefeated for the season when they host the Illinois Fighting Illini this Saturday.
The Wolverines had some much-needed rest last week after smashing Rutgers 78-0 the week before.

The Illinois Fighting Illini didn’t have an issue against Rutgers last week, winning the game 24-7.
This will be the first time they have squared off against Michigan since 2012 when the Wolverines came away with the 45-0 victory.
Illinois Fighting Illini
The Fighting Illini had lost four in a row before getting a win over Rutgers last Saturday 24-7. After quarterback Wes Lunt suffered a back injury in week 5, Illinois was forced to go with back up Chayce Crouch.
With the Fighting Illini keeping the majority of their focus on offense with the running attack, Crouch was only needed for 14 passes. He was able to complete six of them for 92 yards, a touchdown, and an interception.
The Fighting Illini will have their starter back in the lineup this week against the Wolverines.

Lunt had been strong this season when he has played, throwing the ball for six scores while only being picked off once.
Kendrick Foster was able to put together the best game he has had since the first game of the season, running the ball for 108 yards against Rutgers with a touchdown.
The win against Rutgers will provide some extra confidence for the Fighting Illini as they head into Ann Arbor with an average of 26 points per game.
Michigan Wolverines
The Michigan Wolverines dominated every aspect of the game against Rutgers, giving them a 78 point beat down two weeks ago. They were able to score nine touchdowns on the ground and ran the ball for a total of 431 yards.
Chris Evans took on the role as work horse for the Wolverines, gaining 153 yards on the ground, the most he has had in a game this season. The Freshman now leads the Wolverines offense with 400 rushing yards.
Not much was needed from quarterback Wilton Speight, but he did throw for 100 yards on 6 of 13 passing attempts. He has now racked up 1,194 passing yards for the season while tossing 11 touchdowns and only being picked off twice.

The Wolverines defense prevented Rutgers from doing anything with the ball two weeks ago.
They only allowed five yards passing and 34 on the ground.
The Michigan Defense is ranked number one in the country and is at the top in several categories, including only allowing an average of 212 yards per game and only giving up 10.3 yards per contest.

Free Week 8 NCAA Football Prediction
After watching what the Wolverines defense was able to do against Rutgers, I don’t see Michigan having any problem covering the 35.5 in this one.
The fact that Michigan plowed through Rutgers 78-0 and Illinois was only able to beat the same team 24-7 tells me everything I need to know.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Michigan -35.5
The Wolverines will light up the score board again this week against Illinois and I think I am being generous by saying they will score 7. Michigan will cover the spread and this one goes over 55.5.
