Houston travels to Maryland to face off against a tricky Navy offense that is always hard to contain if you have a short window to prepare for it.
Greg Ward had a great game against Uconn last week.
The Houston QB accounted for 5 total touchdowns (3 passing, 2 rushing) and had over 450 total yards.
He should have another big game against a Midshipmen defense that gave up 250 yards passing to Air Force in last weeks loss.
Outside of Greg Ward Houston did not run the ball good, so look for their top 2 running backs to get more touches this week.
Linell Bonner was huge in the game against UConn. He had 12 catches for 159 yards and a score. It was he second straight week reaching the end zone and I expect him to make it three straight.
The Houston defense made big stops in key situations against Uconn.
The Huskies were only 3-15 on third down. Each of those 3rd down stops resulted in a punt by Uconn (12 in total). The defensive line was also able to shut down a Connecticut run game that has been strong to start the season.
Last week was an anomaly for the Navy offense, as QB Will Worth threw the ball 30 times.
Anytime you see Navy throw the ball more than 10 times you know they are playing against their strength and need to catch up and make a comeback.
This week should be another tough one for Navy and I don’t see Will Worth having the weapons to make the plays needed to keep it close. Jamir Tillman had a big game against Air Force but don’t expect a repeat performance.
Multitalented defensive back Chris High has been the key man for the Navy running game this season. Going up against a tough Air Force defense he had only 32 yards on the ground without a score.
This week I expect him to break one big run and go over 50 yards, but he won’t reach the end zone again.
The Navy defense had a hard stopping the passing game of Air Force, allowing Jalen Robinette to have over 150 yards receiving and a score. I expect Greg Ward to give the Midshipmen secondary fits all day.
The best option would be to press the Houston receivers and force Ward into dink and dunk situations.

Free Week 6 NCAA Football Prediction
On paper, every game against Navy can be tricky with their option offense, but I’m expecting Houston to score early and often, forcing Navy to become one dimensional.
