For the second year in a row UNC starts the season against anew SEC team. Last year they lost to South Carolina and then didn’t lose again until the ACC title game.
It was the best season of the Larry Fedora Era by far and now they wish to build on it.

Georgia finally pulled the plug on Mark Richt after last season.
They got a plumber candidate to replace him in former Alabama lieutenant Kirby Smart.
If Smart is up to the challenge of being a head coach for the first time than Georgia has a great shot of being the top team in the SEC East.
North Carolina Tar Heels
North Carolina was kind of off the radar last season with that early loss but they were one of the best offensive teams in the country led by QB Marquise Williams, a true run/pass threat.
This season the job goes to Mitch Trubiscky who has a great arm and may be able to take the club even further.

The offense should be very good but the defense has a lot of question marks.
They were absolutely gutted on the ground in their bowl game a year ago and need to be more stout to give this team a chance to follow through on their current sleeper status.
A win here would definitely get the nation’s attention.
Georgia Bulldogs
Looking to become a true competitor for conference and national honours the Bulldogs brought in Smart. A defensive guru with Alabama, I think they might have been biding their to get the candidate they wanted and not just a guy.
Only time will tell if he has what it takes to lead a program.

Time will also tell if freshman quarterback Jacob Eason is the real deal. He was a top recruit who stayed with Georgia after the coaching change and has earned the starting job.
Even if he might be handing off more than anything else they need him to look the part early.
Around him are a number of playmakers on offense and defense.

Free Week 1 NCAA Football Prediction
This games looks like a real toss up to me. I don’t like the fact that UNC will essentially be on the road but I don’t think the Georgia Dome will be too inhospitable.
As the underdogs they get to come in a lot looser.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: North Carolina +3
I don’t see this number moving much so you might want to jump on now. Both quarterbacks will be starting for the first time but Trubiscky has been in the program and should be ready to answer the bell.
That could be the difference.
