What was expected to be the top match in the ACC this preseason has turned into one of the top teams in the nation battling a team hoping to get to bowl eligibility.
The #9 Florida State Seminoles take their unbeaten record on the road, under the lights, against the 2-5 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
Florida State pulled away in the 2nd half in their 41-21 route of Louisville on Saturday.
As for Georgia Tech, lost yet again, this time to Pittsburgh 31-28.
Sitting with an undefeated record, the Seminoles come in off one of their best halves of the season as they pulled away from the Louisville Cardinals en route to a 41-21 win.
RB Dalvin Cook continues to build an impressive Heisman resume and he really solidified his case with his performance on Saturday.
Dalvin Cook ran wild for 163 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Cook is averaging a ridiculous 10.4 yards per carry on the season and is just 45 yards away from 1000 yards. This will mark the 2nd season, in as many, that Cook will have ran for 1000 yards.
QB Everett Golson is becoming increasingly more dangerous too. Golson finished with 372 yards and 3 TDs on 26 of 38 passing. It took some time, but Golson is becoming a much more confident QB within this FSU system.
The Yellow Jackets started the season off as a Top 25 team and were expected to compete for a BCS Playoff spot and even win the ACC. That however, is not even close to being the case.
Georgia Tech has dropped 5 in a row, which marks their longest losing streak since 1994. They have a serious streak on the line. They’ll need at least a 4-1 record the rest of the way to become bowl eligible for the 19th straight season.
The triple option hasn’t been as serious of a threat as it’s been in the past. Georgia Tech is averaging 415.1 yards per game and scoring 37.0. While those stats are impressive and a majority of the teams in the nation would take that, Georgia Tech used to easily surpass that.
They especially need to surpass those numbers because of their defense. Georgia Tech is allowing 27.4 points a game and nearly 7 yards per pass attempt from the opposition.
If Georgia Tech backers want something to look at positively, the Yellow Jackets are 8-1 ATS in their last 9 against Florida State.
