I am not sure either team was expected to contend but both of these teams are off to 0-2 conference starts.
UConn gets a little extra time to prepare after being dumped by Houston on Friday but the Bearcats were no better against the Cougars a couple of weeks prior. The loser is definitely out of the AAC East conference race.

I am not sure anyone is marking their calendars but this one has a slightly early start at 11:30.
I like it in terms of easing into lunch but don’t get too excited just because it is at the top of the board. Cincinnati looks like the better team – they have won 5 in a row in the series.
Cincinnati Bearcats
Cincinnati is a winning program but I don’t know what is going on with them right now. QB Hayden Moore is not likely to play in this one and Gunner Kiel, who at times has looked NFL ready, can’t get on the field.
If they were winning games it wouldn’t matter but the weirdness has not produced any wins as Cincy has proved to be more than just a little behind the good teams in the AAC like South Florida and Houston.

With Moore out perhaps they will lean more on Tion Green.
He is a 230 pound back who can move the pile and they probably won’t have to put up many points to beat the Huskies.
The defense has been pretty good this season if you take out those games against the Cougars and the Bulls, who present matchup problems all over the field.
This is a good matchup for the Bearcats.
Connecticut Huskies
The Huskies have two wins…including one over Virginia that I am not sure how to evaluate.
They were hoping to get more offensive production this season but are still among the most lethargic teams in the nation.
QB Bryant Sherriffs has yet to show much improvement in his second year in the program but to be fair it is not like he is surrounded with a wealth of talent.
I think if you are going to come down on the Huskies offense it has to be as a group.

The defense is better and they are actually one of the better defenses against the run.
They may have given up 42 points to Houston but they forced Greg Ward Jr. to beat them with his arm, and he did.
DE/LB Cole Ormsby is an emerguing force as an edge rusher and given the challenges the Bearcats have at quarterback he could be a big factor in this one.
E.J. Levenberry on the other side started his career at Florida State, a program which knows a thing or two about defensive talent.

Free Week 6 NCAA Football Prediction
Coming into the season I would have definitely seen this one as a pretty easy win for Cincinnati. Now I am not so sure, primarily because of their own struggles this season, as opposed to what we have seen from UConn.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: UConn +3.5
The hook is always a consideration. I see this one as being a pretty low scoring game and in one like that UConn is capable to keeping up with Cincinnati, even winning it late.
Don’t go overboard but I think there is value with the home team.
