The Cornhuskers turn the page in their storied program when they open their season at home in Week 1 against the BYU Cougars.
Nebraska parted ways with former head coach Bo Pelini after a phenomenal run and many winning seasons in a row. The shocking firing gave way to now head coach Mike Riley. Nebraska lacked consistency in 2014 as they never really could build off momentum.

Both programs offer one thing in common: wins. Two of the most winningest programs do battle as the Cornhuskers and Cougars ranked 1 and 5 respectively over the past 40 season in terms of victories.
This marks the first time the Cougars and Cornhuskers will be meeting.
BYU
The Cougars return 6-2 Senior Taysom Hill, who missed a majority of the season in 2014 with a leg injury.
Hill has thrown for 4338 yards in his tenure at BYU, but has 30 touchdowns to 19 interceptions.
Hill played in 4 straight games to open the season, before suffering his season ending injury in the team’s 5th game against Utah State. Hill threw for 7 touchdowns compared to just 2 interceptions in his 4.5 games played in 2014.

BYU had 8 different rushers have atleast 1 touchdown and had 9 rushers over 100 yards on the season. Leading the way for BYU in terms of running was Jamaal Williams. However, Williams decided to withdraw from the school just 2 days before camp opened up for personal reasons and will redshirt in 2015.
That means the rushing attack will be led by dual threat QB Taysom Hill. In 2014 he rushed for 460 yards and 8 touchdowns.
Nebraska
The Cornhuskers offense in 2015 will go only as far as Junior QB Tommy Armstrong will take them. The dual threat QB, like his opposing QB, is really the only offensive threat for Nebraska.
Armstrong offers a variety of different run and pass packages that first year head coach Mike Riley can use.
The Junior has a 16-5 record going back to 2013 and had a total of 28 touchdowns in 2014.

Armstrong threw for 2695 yards and 22 touchdowns through the air. On the ground, he rushed for 705 yards and 6 touchdowns.
The Cornhuskers will lack receiver depth. The go to guy for Armstrong will be Jordan Westercamp. In 2014, Westercamp caught 44 passes for 747 yards and 5 touchdowns.
