Despite all of the off-season distractions, Baylor is yet again off to a great start and will look to keep it rolling against a conference bottom feeder in Iowa State.

The Cyclones picked up their first win of the young season and now begin a brutal stretch of Baylor, Oklahoma State, and Kansas State in consecutive weeks before their bye.
Baylor won the matchup last season in Waco by jumping out to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter before winning 45-27.
Baylor Bears
There was a lot of skepticism surrounding Baylor entering this season after a series of offseason off-the-field incidents.
However, they have responded with a 4-0 start and have used a combination of offense and defense to defeat their opponents.
They faced their first test of the young season last week at home against Oklahoma State and beat them 35-24.
Seth Russell has returned to his form from last season before he got injured and Baylor has been able to utilize a group of running backs to form a dynamic offensive attack.

The defense has been good as well – allowing just 13.5 points per game. Despite getting dominated in time of possession, the Bears held Oklahoma State to 24 points last week forcing 4 turnovers along the way.
There isn’t a look-ahead game for Baylor as they have a bye week next week followed by a game against Kansas. Russell is a veteran who knows they can’t let a team like Iowa State hang around and the Bears should roll on the road.
Iowa State Cyclones
Iowa State picked up their first win last week using 4 interceptions to limit the San Jose State offense to 10 points in their 44-10 win.
San Jose State was forced to use their 2nd string quarterback though and it showed as the Spartans only totaled 155 passing yards.
The Cyclones passing attack was improved as three quarterbacks combined to throw for 316 yards and 5 touchdowns.
However, prior to last week’s game the Cyclones offense had only been averaging 14 points per game.
It appears that the Cyclones are going to stick to a dual quarterback system with Joel Lanning and Jacob Park sharing time.
[dfads params=’groups=219&limit=1&return_javascript=1′]
Lanning threw for 144 yards and three touchdowns last season against Baylor after replacing Sam Richardson who struggled mightily early on.
A two quarterback system is rarely a good one but Baylor at least doesn’t need to prepare for two different styles.
To give those quarterbacks a chance to prove their ability, the Cyclone defense will need to find some way to slow down the Baylor rushing attack that ran for 276 yards against them last season.

Free Week 5 NCAA Football Prediction
The Cyclones may be determined to pull off the upset after a confidence boost last week but Baylor is playing with a big chip on its shoulder following this offseason.
There was a lot of doubt on how Baylor would respond so I wouldn’t expect that focus to be gone as Baylor takes out their inferior opponent.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Baylor -16.5
This one could start slow for Baylor but they just have too much offensive firepower for the Cyclones. Also, the Baylor defense has looked better this season than in past seasons so they should give the Cyclones quarterbacks a tough time.
