Central Michigan is a good team but it is almost like they couldn’t live with getting away with the win over Oklahoma State, so they dropped the next two games.
Western Michigan is the class of the MAC this season so there is no shame there, but I though they would play better.
Ball State is not likely to be a contender this season in the MAC but their results are pretty good.
Four covers to start the season and they hung in there in their two losses. They might have a shot if CMU is still off their game.
Ball State Cardinals
Ball State has been effective thanks to a nice balanced offense.
RB James Gilbert might be small but he has good instincts and has ripped off two 100+ yard games. He scored three TDs against NIU last week to keep things close.
QB Riley Neal is no pro prospect but he solid running this offense and spreads the ball around to his weapons. Ball State should be able to move the ball.
The defense has been decent too but last week the Huskies ran all over them.
Two RBs posted over 100 yards and the team rumbled for more than 350 on the ground. They also had no clue how to stop Kenny Golladay, maybe the best receiver in the MAC.
They are going to have to have a strong game on defense to stay in this one on the road.
Central Michigan Chippewas
Cooper Rush is more than just a great name, he is really good. Last week he was off his game against Western Michigan but when you look at the numbers he put up against Oklahoma State you can see it was not because he doesn’t have the talent.
I am looking for him to bounce back this week at home. Devon Spalding gives them a decent running threat and can also catch the ball. CMU loves to air it out.
The defense has been torched the last couple of weeks, giving up 49 points twice.
WMU does have a great offense but giving up that many to Virginia is very concerning. They are not giving up a ton of yards overall but the points are putting them in a bad spot.
If they want to challenge WMU for the MAC West they can’t afford another loss.

Free Week 6 NCAA Football Prediction
Central Michigan is definitely going to win this one at home and stop that losing streak but I wonder if they will be just content to be good enough and not dominate like the spread will need them to.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Ball State +12.5
Look for CMU to get out early in this one and cruise to the victory. Ball State will give up some points but they will score enough on their own to get the cover here. They are 4-1 ATS this season, in case you haven’t been paying attention.
