There was much speculation that the New Mexico Bowl would be the final hurrah for head coach Rich Rodriguez.
While it looked as if he was going to accept a job at South Carolina to succeed Steve Spurrier, he put those rumors to rest.
Rodriguez officially turned down the job, pledging his loyalty to UA as he looks lead them to a 7th win and an over .500 record in the 2015 season with a win on Saturday.
Arizona has not had much of a memorable season. They limp into bowl season losing 4 of their last 5, including their annual rivalry game to Arizona State to finish out the season.
The Wildcats lone note worthy win came against No. 10 Utah this season. Otherwise, this season was filled with inconsistencies and struggles throughout.
RB Nick Wilson, who was predicted to be a top RB this season in college football was the main reason for the struggles for Arizona. Wilson continued to battle injuries as he sat out 3 of the last 6 games, while only compiling 42 rush yards in the 3 games he did play.
Wilson will have had 4 weeks come Saturday to rest himself as he looks to become the RB of old and lead Arizona to an over. 500 season. Wilson had surpassed the 100 yard mark in 10 of his first 17 games played at Arizona.
Scooby Wright, the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year in 2014, is also expected to return. Wright was injured at the beginning of the season and missed 10 of the 12 games played.
New Mexico Lobos
RB Jhurell Pressley picked up plenty of steam down the stretch of the season and has been the main reason for the Lobos success and winning record here in 2015.
Pressley expects to get a majority of the plays called for him in this bowl game as he comes in off the Lobos best individual performance of the season.
The tailback rushed for 170 yards and 3 touchdowns in the Lobos win over Air Force to finish off the season. Pressley also had 100+ yard performances in 2 other games this season.
QB Lamar Jordan hasn’t done much of anything with his arm this season, but has been a threat with his legs along side Pressley. Jordan has thrown less than 10 passes in each of the Lobos last 4 games. He’s only thrown for 896 yards and 4 touchdowns this season.
Don’t sleep on Lamar Jordan though as he gives the Lobos plenty of attack with the option looks. Jordan ran for at least one touchdown in the final 3 games of the season for New Mexico.

Free New Mexico Bowl NCAA Football Prediction
Even though the Lobos are literally playing in a game with their school name in it, this is a story of two completely different teams.
Arizona should have no problem moving the ball with Wilson on offense.
On defense, with Wright back, the Wildcats should be able to dominate this run game from New Mexico.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Arizona ATS
The Wildcats finish off their season in style and remain over .500 with a lopsided win here, covering the double digit spread.
