The Tennessee Volunteers have been a young talented team for the past few years under Butch Jones and now all this talented is experienced and ready to breakthrough.
Not only that, but Tennessee’s schedule is very favorable. If Tennessee is going to do it, they are going to do it now and I’m very high on this team. This is a team that should be on everybody’s short list of playoff hopefuls this year.
2016 Tennessee Volunteers Predictions: Team Strengths
Senior quarterback Joshua Dobbs is back, junior halfback Jalen Hurd is back, junior wide receiver Josh Malone is back. All told the Volunteers will bring back nine starters on the offensive side.
On the defensive side of the ball, Tennessee brings back eight returning starters which include senior cornerback Cameron Sutton, junior defensive end Derek Barnett, and senior defensive end Corey Vereen among others.

Basically, this entire team is the Volunteers strength. Offensively, Tennessee is dynamic they can throw a little bit with Dobbs and they can run it a little bit. Tennessee is very much a dual threat offense, Dobbs can run, Hurd can run.
Offenses nowadays are fast and flashy, but that’s not really Tennessee. They are just a very efficient team that get the job done.
2016 Tennessee Volunteers Predictions: Team Weaknesses
On-the-field this team really doesn’t have many weaknesses. Finding a left tackle to keep Joshua Dobbs upright is important but that’s really their only pressing need. Another weakness is Dobbs struggles down the field. Completing some more passes down the field could only benefit this team.

Off-the-field is another story. A lot has happened off the field that could distract this team if these issues aren’t resolved before the season is started. The Volunteers need to keep their players in check, quit getting arrested.
Tennessee needs some leaders to step up and keep this team in check. This team has massive potential and it would be a shame if they squander it away.
2016 Tennessee Volunteers Predictions:
(Tennessee Volunteers 12-2)
I think there is no doubt that the Tennessee Volunteers win the Eastern Division. They’ll represent the East and probably play Alabama Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game in what may very well be an epic rematch.

It’s tough to run the table in the SEC. It’s a tough conference and Tennessee has a tough four game stretch where they play Florida and then go on the road to take on Georgia and Texas A&M. Then they come back home to take on the Alabama Crimson Tide. Somewhere in this minefield the Volunteers will trip up at least once.
I have the Volunteers winning at least ten games this year and they have the upside of winning 12, 13 games this year. My prediction is that when it’s all said and done the Volunteers will have 12 wins.
