Nick Saban’s group is poised yet again for another dominant season. Do they have what it takes to run the table and defend their title?
We break it down below.
2016 Alabama Crimson Tide Predictions: Team Strengths
Why You Recruit
The Crimson Tide lost a lot of talent on the defensive end. Alabama, who is known for their fast flocking defense, really lost a lot at the front line and linebacker position.
However, when you have Nick Saban, you’re always prepared for situations like this.

Alabama’s front seven starts with Jonathan Allen and Tim Williams. The duo leads what is still the #1 defense against the run heading into this season.
Linebacker wise, Reueben Foster replaces Reggie Ragland, which is a solid compliment.
This defense is deep enough to be just as good, if not better, than last season.
Sophomore Star
Calvin Ridley had the daunting task of replacing Amari Cooper out wide last year, as a freshman.
Ridley had an outstanding year for the National Champions, compiling 89 receptions for 1045 yards with 7 touchdowns.
Ridley is clearly the #1 heading into this season and will be trusted more deep down field. His maturity from a stellar freshman season is a huge plus for him as
2016 Alabama Crimson Tide Predictions: Team Weaknesses
How Can Ridley Get The Ball?
Alabama’s QB situation is quite foggy at the moment and it has some worry in Nick Saban.
Alabama has been auditioning 4 QBs this spring and none of the 4 have really impressed Saban and his staff.

Cooper Bateman gets a very slim edge over the other 3 as he is the only one to actually appear in a college game. David Cornwell, a third year sophomore, is getting the most buzz as of right now after his performance in the spring game.
Blake Barnett and Jalen Hurts offer youth, but really have no stability or consistency under their belt.
The Alabama offense has playmakers out wide, but getting them the ball is quite possibly the biggest question mark right now for this team.
Gotta Earn It:
The Crimson Tide will play one of the toughest schedules in the FBS. They get a look at USC out of conference and will be on the road at Ole Miss, Tennessee, Arkansas, and LSU.
When you have no proven QB, sending him on the road in hostile environments like those will not be easy.
It will put a lot of pressure on their running game, which is very young and inexperienced itself.
Alabama Crimson Tide Prediction
10-2
It’s tough to pick any games against Alabama, especially when you have Nick Saban.
However, the QB situation, which has been downplayed throughout the spring, is very concerning for this team.
With just one QB getting his feet wet in an actual game situation, you have to wonder how this team will go on the road and perform in places like Ole Miss and LSU.
With Derrick Henry gone from the backfield too, the inexperience factor comes into play.

If Alabama can get themselves a solidified QB early in the season, they will have their chance to defend their title.
Easier said than done though, especially when you open up against USC on a neutral field.
