Super Bowl Odds Ahead of NFC & AFC Championships
After a terrific weekend of Divisional Round action in the NFL the Final Four are set. Interestingly enough – none of the four teams left separated themselves from the pack or established themselves as a sure-fire Super Bowl favorite.
The Patriots looked good but sustained a few injuries on defense, the Panthers almost let one slip away, the Broncos failed to shine against a depleted Steelers team and the Cardinals looked out of sync in their win.

So who should we throw our hard earned dollars behind? Who is most likely to emerge victorious in San Francisco in February? Let’s take a look at all four teams left, the odds that accompany them and a brief look at their chances to hoist the Lombardi Trophy.
Superbowl 50 Odds – New England Patriots: 15/8
I have to admit, I wasn’t much of a believer in the Patriots before their Divisional Round game. After all they finished the Regular Season 2-4, they were still banged up and they were facing the red-hot KC Chiefs.
But Brady and the boys did what they do – they beat the Chiefs and set up a match with the vulnerable Broncos.

The Pats are as healthy as they have been in quite a while despite sustaining some injuries on defense against KC – Julian Edelman was the difference. New England has won every game in which Edelman has been in the fold – his presence opens up some much-needed room for Ron Gronkowski as well.
Simply put the Patriots are a different team with Edelman healthy – looking more like the one that threatened an undefeated season. Brady is now averaging 334.5 passing yards per game with his star receiver and 246.7 yards per contest without him. With a game under his belt Edelman will be even better this week. I love the Pats to take advantage of a somewhat nervous Broncos team, to advance to the Super Bowl but to have a tough time in the finale with…
Superbowl 50 Odds – Carolina Panthers: 2/1
The Panthers almost let one get away against Seattle but let’s consider that a mulligan! My bet is them not giving up 24 points in a half of football again!

The Panthers are still the most balanced team in the game, they have the best defense left in the playoffs and they are playing at home on Sunday against an Arizona team that hasn’t exactly looked like world beaters their last few games.
I expect a rested Jonathan Stewart to be a factor the rest of the way, for the defense to clamp down and for Cam Newton to prove a lot of haters wrong.
Carolina is still my pick to win it all this year – they have been the best in the game since day 1 and Cam Newton seems destined for a Crown. There are still some huge hurdles to get over before hoisting the Lombardi but the Panthers, to me look like the best equipped to do so.
Superbowl 50 Odds – Denver Broncos: 7/2
If you watched Sunday’s game – an uninspiring 23-16 win over the depleted Steelers you too would have come out of it with major concerns for the Denver Broncos. Sure the Broncs have a sensational defense and a good running game but Peyton Manning looked old and slow, his passes were fluttering out of his hand and his performance was blasé to say the least – he averaged just 6 yards per attempt against Pittsburgh!.
The Patriots surrendered 179 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 32 carries to the Broncos on Nov. 29 – I don’t expect Bill Belichick to let that happen again! I suppose the Denver defense could keep the game close and we can’t forget that Sunday’s game will be played at Mile High. But with Peyton guiding the Broncos they look like an average team – one that just doesn’t have a chance against Bill Belichick and Tom Brady.
Superbowl 50 Odds – Arizona Cardinals: 4/1
Is it me or has the Cardinals defense been seriously regressing since the injury to Tyrann Mathieu? I mean the slow Eddie Lacy was able to get free for a 61 yard romp against this team and at times Aaron Rodgers seemed to do as he pleased.
Carson Palmer, Larry Fitzgerald, Michael Floyd and John Brown could dominate Sunday’s game against the Panthers but my guess is that Arizona has a difficult time with the stout Carolina defense. Simply put the Cardinals did not impress me enough last week to convince me they can beat the Panthers on the road in the NFC Championship game.

So after wading through all of the scenarios it looks an awful lot like a Carolina/New England Super Bowl this year – I have Carolina winning in yet another classic.
Here are some other interesting odds moving forward in what has been another scintillating year of NFL football – notice that Denver isn’t getting a whole lotta love!
