CHICAGO BULLS vs. NEW JERSEY NETS
The Nets have played well at home against the Chicago Bulls in recent years.The Nets who have remained competitive despite a poor record at the Izod Center look to win their 14th straight home game versus the Bulls as the teams continue their season series tonight. New Jersey's has posted a respectable 15-15 record and had most os it's wins on the road where they are 10-4 however, the Nets have gone 5-11 allowing 103.2 points a contest. Facing the Bulls (13-17) at home has been a cakewalk for the Nets who have won 13 straight home games against Chicago. The Nets have held the Bulls to 40.4 percent shooting while allowing 86.8 points per game during their streak even though the last two contests have gone into overtime. Chicago has also been limited to 30.6 percent shooting from 3-point range and averaged 17.5 turnovers.The Bulls have lost seven straight games away from the United Center but handed the Nets one of their road defeats, winning 113-104 on Dec. 13.New Jersey won on the road in its last game, beating Charlotte 114-103 on Saturday night. Vince Carter had 39 points in the Nets' first meeting with Chicago this season and Luol Deng who would have likely matched up with Carter could miss up to a week with a sprained left ankle. Bulls big man Drew Gooden has missed four straight games with a sprained right ankle but Chicago hopes Gooden can play at New Jersey. Chicago has lost three straight, all on the road although they were outstanding on offense against the Hawks as Ben Gordon.Gordon scored 33 points and was 6-of-8 behind the arc to pass Scottie Pippen and become the Bulls' career leader in 3-pointers and he had 29 points in the last meeting with New Jersey going 4-for-8 from 3-point range. Both these teams play a faced paced offense with little help on defense as shown by the score in their first game. This is Chicag's fourth game on the road. This young team wo'nt put forth much of a defenses effort but they willl score points against this soft New Jersey defense. Look for Derrick Rose and Devin Harris to keep this an uptempo game that wil come down to the wire.
