Rudi Johnson Benched Permanently

Rudi's contract has been terminated. The Bengals cut Rudi citing injury issues that might come back to haunt them again this season. Poor Rudi is out over 3.5 million due to this decision.

Big bucks lost but just think if he was kept on and then something bad happened what would be worse. Lose a few mil or end up screwed losing a player and a possible lawsuit.

This is the risk that a sports player takes with any game unfortunately. If he takes it easy and looks after himself he might recover and come back, find someone to take him on. Otherwise, lets hope that he has some saved.

I think this was more of a team decision and less of a player decision. The team was protecting itself. I wonder if players have insurance for this sort of thing?

The insurance is almost like them holding the mans pink slip. Sometimes thats just the way the cookie crumbles and really I think I would have done the same, protect majority rather than just one bringing eveyone down.
