NFL channel is reporting that Favre is flying to Green Bay Sunday Night, and he plans to compete for the starting QB job in GB. The Packers could absolutly still wind up trading Favre, and his 12 Million Dollar base salery....ouch (hello salary cap)

A very politically correct announcement from Packer headquarters - but hardly unexpected after this weekend of stories and reports. Brett will be going back but I hardly think the Packers will be 'welcoming' him home.

With the milti-million dollar contracts that are being thrown around this year I don't see why not. More people are talking about the Packers this week than ever before. This could turn out to be a benefit to the team in buzz advertising. We will see how it plays out in ticket sales this year.

The Green Bay Packers made it official on Monday and placed QB Favre on the roster.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre has reportedly asked the team for his release. ESPN.com reported that Favre acknowledged that he was at loggerheads with the organization and believed the "best thing for this team is for us to part ways."

Kansas City Royals catcher Miguel Olivo and pitcher Zack Greinke have been suspended five games each for causing trouble in a weekend game with the Chicago White Sox.

White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen was suspended two games and Royals manager Trey Hillman was given one game Tuesday.
