Carlisle’s in Dallas. D’Antoni is in New York City. Those moves will likely provide some interesting online sports betting next season. However, online betting enthusiasts like myself want to know whose going to be at the helm of the Chi-town Bulls and the Phoenix Suns? There sure are a lot of names floating around, but I need to get something off my chest first.
If a successful CEO is fired from his job for no explicable reason, say from Proctor and Gamble, and every single one of their competitors is clamoring at their doorsteps, shouldn’t that tell you something?
Mike D’Antoni and Avery Johnson both lost their jobs for inexcusable reasons. The fault lies not with the head coach, but in the laps of the General Managers who ruined their teams. For Phoenix, I’ll never understand why they just didn’t treat Shawn Marion like Steve Nash and Amare Stoudemire. Why not come out and say, “Marion’s our boy, we’re keep him, he’s important to us. We’re not trading our boy”? That’s all he wanted. After three years of trade rumors, Marion was bound to develop a piss-poor attitude. But he didn’t show it on the court and that’s what really matters.
With Dallas, Cuban should be blamed for the disaster that was the Jason Kidd Trade. Yet, in both cases, D’Antoni and Johnson got the axe and Cuban and Kerr got off Scott free. Yet D’Antoni found a suitor in New York, which is honestly a fantastic situation for him, while Avery Johnson is sure to find teams courting him like a prized doe.
