1) Seattle Mariners (2-8) (-$847.00) The Mariners got off to a fabulous start to their 2007 campaign, but that just hasn’t been the case here in the present. They’ve lost 8 of their L/10 overall costing Mariner bettors $847.00 smackaroos, and they’ve been a dreadful MLB wager all season long losing their backers a lofty $1,371.00 to date. The offense can’t hit its way out of a paper bag averaging a bleak 4.07 RPG to rank 24th in the league, and their OPS of .690 is good for 26th meaning they can’t get on and they can’t get them in when they’re on. Their pitching has also failed them as prized off-season acquisition Erik Bedard is only 2-2 in his six starts on a staff that ranks 23rd overall with a team ERA of 4.45. The bullpen also ranks in the bottom third of the league with a 4.17 ERA, and it’s blown five of its 12 save opportunities thus far. On top of that, the defense has left a ton to be desired already committing 31 errors on the year. They’ve earned just two wins in the 13 games they’ve played in May, and things look to be getting worse before they get better with seven of their next 15 coming on the road. Hopefully they can improve upon the worst record in all of baseball in the coming weeks.
