Denver QB Cutler diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes

Denver Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler discussed his latest obstacle on Friday after doctors diagnosed him with Type 1 diabetes.

Reports surfaced Thursday of the diagnosis, and a day later the 25-year-old revealed how he learned of the condition. Cutler said blood work taken from a team physical on April 16 showed the diabetes.

Diabetes is tough, it runs in my family so I've had my fair share of experience with it. All I can say is that I hope he doesn't let it get him down.

Getting diagnosed with diabetes can really take a toll on not only your mental and emotional health, but also your physical health. I'm not particularly a Broncos fan, but I wouldn't wish it on anybody.
