Seattle Mariners pitcher Miguel Batista left Friday's 4-3 loss to the Oakland Athletics with a mild right groin strain. Cha Seung Baek came on in relief after Batista walked Kurt Suzuki to begin the second inning. Baek threw six innings of one hit, one run relief ball, and retired the final 15 batters he faced. Batista gave up three runs on two hits with five walks and two strikeouts in one-plus inning and suffered the loss.
