Wil Nieves' home run in the bottom of the ninth inning, the first homer of his career, lifted the Washington Nationals to a 5-3 win over the Chicago Cubs at Nationals Park. After Chicago tied the game at 3-3 in the eighth inning, Austin Kearns led off the Washington ninth with a single up the middle. Willie Harris then struck out, but Nieves -- facing an 0-2 count -- slammed a high fastball over the wall in right field to end the game.
