Vidro, Mariners take opener from O's

Jose Vidro was 1-for-4 with two RBI as the Seattle Mariners downed the Baltimore Orioles, 4-2, in the opener of a three- game series. Raul Ibanez scored a run and recorded the other RBI for Seattle, which has won two in a row and five of seven overall. Ichiro Suzuki had a triple and scored a run, while Yuniesky Betancourt scored twice. Mariners starter Felix Hernandez gave up two runs on six hits in seven innings of work. Arthur Rhodes (1-0)
