Brandon Webb tossed eight innings of three-hit ball, allowing just one run while driving in two at the plate, and the Arizona Diamondbacks took the rubber match of their three-game series with the San Francisco Giants, 4-1, at AT&T Park.
Webb (4-0) struck out five and walked two, using his trademark sinker ball to record 14 groundouts. At the plate, he drove in the go-ahead runs with a first-inning single to help himself on the way to becoming the first four-game winner in the majors. Brandon Lyon earned his third save with a scoreless ninth, as Arizona won for the ninth time in the last 11 games.
