Daisuke Matsuzaka combined with two relievers on a five-hit shutout as Boston blanked Detroit, 5-0, in the home opener at historic Fenway Park. Matsuzaka (2-0) allowed just four hits, while walking four and striking out seven for the defending World Series champion Red Sox, who snapped a three- game skid and have won four consecutive home openers.
