Every player knows this is a long season, filled with peaks and valleys, ups and downs and highs and lows. So very rarely do players bask in the glory of their hot streaks in fear of that valley on the horizon.
However, in the case of the Milwaukee Brewers, it is hard for this young bunch not to get caught up in their recent run. Since May 24th the Brewers have been one of the top teams in the majors, posting a sensational 21-9 ledger.
Unfortunately, during this recent peak, Milwaukee's division rivals, Chicago and St. Louis, have also played strong baseball, keeping the young and hungry Brew Crew still stranded in third place.
Offensively, the team is being led by Milwaukee's mashers, Ryan Braun and Prince Fielder. Joining the offensive onslaught of late is Russell Branyan. The journeyman has been a pleasant and much needed surprise, and in 77 at-bats he is batting .286 with 10 round trippers and 17 RBI.
