Boston Red Sox first baseman Sean Casey has dropped his appeal on a three-game suspension, and will begin the three-game sentence by sitting out Monday's game with Arizona. Major League Baseball levied the suspension for Casey's role in a bench- clearing scuffle between the Red Sox and Tampa Bay on June 5. In the second inning of that game, Boston outfielder Coco Crisp charged the mound after getting hit by a James Shields pitch.
