Popovich receives contract extension

The San Antonio Spurs have extended the contract of head coach Gregg Popovich through the 2011-12 season. Popovich is in his 12th year as coach of the Spurs. He has guided San Antonio to four NBA championships, including a title last season. Since Popovich has been at the helm, the Spurs have appeared in the playoffs 11 times and have held home court advantage in the first round each time. He is now 10-1 in the first round of playoff

Its always nice to look back and see that he got them into the playoffs that many times, but unless they are winning something is missing. I guess its possible they are hoping that a little longer might do them better in the end results. Not sure how I feel on it yet though.
