Major League Baseball announced Wednesday that Colorado Rockies minor-leaguer Humberto Cota has received a 50-game suspension for testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance. Cota appeared in five games for the Pittsburgh Pirates last season, hitting .286 in 14 at-bats. A lifetime .233 hitter in parts of seven season for the Pirates, Cota has 12 home runs and 61 runs batted in over 196 games.
