| Caleb Campbell gets drafted by the Lions then policy change and he can't play. I am not sure what the Army is thinking. If he would have made the Lions roster, he would have been a walking billboard for the Army. The Army needs all the help they can get recruiting right now and they just pissed a good thing away. That said, he might not even have made the team. He seems like quite the guy though, handling it all in stride. Commitments are commitments, and until his time is up, his commitment is to the ARMY. Also, it isn't about 1 person making a difference over seas or not, its about staying firm on the rules and not budging. I will bet you that when his time is up, and he has a degree from West Point that he can probaly do whatever he wants.

| I don't think there is any being screwed going on here. He'll get his degree without paying a heap like most people do, training in other fields too. He'll leave the army hopefully with some savings, at a young enough age to try then and do what he wants to do. He knew what he was signing up for. |

| What would be wrong with that? If he is qualified to go for officer then he has every right to do so. And if that means getting on the football team, then all the better-the solution to his problems. But then I think if he was qualified for officer training then don't you think perhaps he would already have looked at pursuing that option? |
