Default USA Election Prop Betting

Sept 16th, 2008 - betED.com Press Release

Prop Lines move as U.S. Election race tightens

The betting lines are narrowing for the 2008 U.S. Election, with Republican Party candidate John McCain taking a big bite out of the lead of the Democrats' Barack Obama.

With polls indicating a close race, Obama is now a -125 moneyline favorite to be elected U.S. President in betED.com Prop Betting. McCain is not far behind at -105 odds.

A Newsweek poll late last week showed the two candidates are in a dead heat, each with 46 per cent of decided voters.

Obama, who chose Delaware Senator Joe Biden as his Vice-Presidential running mate, held a healthy lead coming out of the Democratic National Convention in August. But that lead was erased after the Republican National Convention, at which McCain chose Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate.

No matter who wins the Nov. 4 election, the 2008 presidential race has already been an historic one on a number of levels.

Obama, who is of mixed African and Caucasian descent, would become the first African-American U.S. President if elected. If McCain wins the presidency, Palin would be the first woman elected Vice President.

The 2008 election is also notable because it is the first time in U.S. history that two sitting senators will run against each other for president - Obama is a junior senator from Illinois while McCain is a senior senator from Arizona.

Meanwhile, there is another option for voters - and Prop Betting fans at betED.com - one that could pay off handsomely (although to call it a 'long shot' would be an understatement). The odds for "Any Other Party" to win the election are +6000 at betED.com.

Other political parties running presidential candidates include the Green Party, Constitution Party, and Libertarian Party.
