    Memphis vs. Houston

    Memphis 26-3 (14-0)
    Houston 18-9 (9-5)

    Line - Memphis -7

Memphis is trying to position themselves for a #1 seed in the NCAA tourney. It is going to be difficult but an impressive road win would help their cause. Houston is not even a bubble team so they are looking the NIT square in the face unless they can get the automatic bid.

Memphis is on a 20 game win streak. The Tigers are 10-3 ATS in the last 13. They are 5-2 ATS in the last 7 road games. The average margin of victory in the last 6 road games is 15.5.

Houston has lost the last 4 games ATS. The Cougars are 1-3 ATS in their last 4 home games. They don't have much to play for as mentioned above.

The two teams met earlier this season (Jan 31) with Memphis winning by 15 and covering the spread at home. Memphis had 5 players in double figures in that meeting. Houston was led by Junior guard Aubrey Coleman, 35pts/9reb. I don't see a repeat happening tonight.

    Play - Memphis -7

Default Indiana State vs. Northern Iowa

    Indiana State 11-20 (8-11) - 15-14 ATS
    Northern Iowa 20-10 (14-4) - 14-12 ATS

    Line - Northern Iowa -6.5

Game starts shortly so this won't be long

ISU is 7-1 ATS in the last 8 games.

UNI has been struggling as of late. 3 of their 4 conference losses have come in February.

ISU won 85-84 on 12/28 - ISU won ATS
UNI won 61-57 on 1/31 - ISU won ATS

    Play - Indiana State +6.5

Default Wichita State vs. Creighton MVC Tournament

    Wichita State 16-15 (9-10)
    Creighton 25-6 (14-4)

    Line - Creighton -7.5

Creighton is looking for an at large bid to the Big Dance. Wichita State will need a miracle run through the conference tournament to be one of the 65. If not, they are just hoping to get an NIT or CBI invite.

The 2 teams have met twice this year with each team winning at home.

12/28/08 Creighton won outright 68-56 and ATS.
1/17/09 Wichita State won outright 74-61 and ATS.

In the first meeting the Shockers were definately feeling the nerves. 6 out of the top 10 players for the Shockers are first year players. The other 4 were only in the program for 1 year. The first game was WSU's first conference game of the year, on the road, in front of 17k hostile fans in Omaha. They shot 35% from the field which is quite a bit lower than the avg on the year (43.6%).

The second game WSU won convincingly by 13. They did however shoot about 5% better than the season average. In both games the Shockers outrebounded the Bluejays by an average of 14 a game.

Creighton has won 10 in a row but haven't looked all that great in doing so. Conference player of the year, Booker Woodfox, will look to extend that to 11. WSU is 9-4 in conference since starting off 0-6.

I don't think the Shockers will win but they will cover.

    Play - Wichita State +7.5

    Illinois State 22-8 (11-7)
    Evansville 17-12 (8-10)

    Line - Illinois St. -4.5

    Meetings this year -
12/31/08 Illinois State won SU 80-50 and ATS
2/11/09 Illinois State won SU 70-68 and ATS

ISU has superior athleticism and are led by 1st team all Missouri Valley guard Osiris Eldridge. He is just a freak athleticly. The also have the MVC newcomer of the year in Champ Oguchi. ISU leads the valley in 3 pointers made this year.

Evansville is led by all conference player Shy Ely. He has averaged 21.5 pts in the previous 2 meetings. Evansville is last in the conference in 3 pointers made this year.

In the previous meetings ISU has outrebounded Evansville by 6 per game. The lead the Valley in rebounding. The 30 point drubbing on 12/31 speaks for itself. Evansville shot 52.1% from the field on 2/11, they average 44.9% on the year. They also only had 10 TO's that game, they average 13 per game on the year.

Look for Ely to be guarded closely and ISU to create more TO's than in the last meeting.

    Pick - Illinois St. -4.5

    New Mexico 20-10 (11-4)
    Wyoming 18-11 (7-8)

Line - New Mexico -4.5 NOTE-Most books are at -5 but you can get in at -4.5

    Meeting this year:
2/3/09 New Mexico won at home SU 86-57 and ATS

New Mexico is in a 3 way tie for first in the Mountain West Conference. They are also on the bubble for an at large berth into the dance. Wyoming is looking for an invite to the NIT.

NM is 0-3 ATS in the last 3, but won 2 of the 3 SU. NM is 3-0 ATS in the last 3 vs. Wyoming.

Wyoming's Sean Ogirri needs just 1 3ptr to become the conference single season leader.

The Lobos' leading scorer Tony Danridge has only been held to single digits once since November. In the first meeting he only had 11. NM was pretty balanced scoring with 4 players in double figures. They won the rebounding game 32/21. Wyoming was 45% from 3 but are only 36% on average for the year.

Look for Danridge to be more effective and Wyoming to shoot a lower % this time around.

    Play - New Mexico -4.5
