Major US business and financial publication the Wall Street Journal has published an article in which it seems to support the concept of a regulated and licensed online gambling industry in the US that would replace the current regime dominated by UIGEA. In an op-ed article, the Journal comments that the current proposal by Congressman Barney Frank to exchange UIGEA with his Internet Gambling Regulation and Enforcement Act (IGREA) is a step in the right direction in resolving the many problems brought about by UIGEA. Should the US eventually reverse its current anti-online gambling policy, online bingo games operators and online bingo halls from the rest of the world would be able to re-enter the lost US market.
