Will Delaware Sports Betting Law Mean Less Online Gambling?

Although online gambling in the form of sports betting is illegal in the US, almost all sports fans know where they can find themselves a bookie that will take their bets. The majority of the underground sports betting business has now shifted to the Internet.

Lawmakers in the state of Delaware are moving forward with a Bill that would legalize sports betting, and that may cause some illegal sports gambling operators to lose some sleep. The Bill, which seemed dead a couple of days ago, now looks like it will be passed.

"If Delaware legalizes sports gambling, it is not as if they are going to cripple existing bookies that are operating illegally," said observer William Hillson, "But, if Delaware sets a precedent that other states follow, it could mean the end of illegal gambling operations as we know it."
