The states Department of Public Safety told 11 telephone and Internet service providers to block Minnesota computers from accessing about 200 online gambling Web sites, the department announced Wednesday.
The Alcohol and Gambling Enforcement Division of the department sent the notices Monday to AT&T Internet Services in San Antonio, Charter Communications in St. Louis, Comcast Cable in Moorestown, N.J., Direct TV in Los Angeles, Dish Network in Englewood., Colo., Embarq and Sprint/Nextel, both in Overland Park, Kan., Frontier Communications in Stamford, Conn., Qwest in Denver, Verizon Wireless in Bedminster, N.J., and Wildblue Communications in Greenwood Village, Colo.
