Representative Barney Frank has always been a proponent of Internet gambling freedom for people in the US, and late this past week he reiterated his stance on the issue. The statements came across as bittersweet for many who were hoping by now Frank would have introduced legislation to overturn the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act.

Frank was speaking on several different areas that he felt Americans should have the freedom to enjoy. While Frank supports legalized online gambling and legalized marijuana, he stopped short of calling for people to handle their own economic situations.

After telling CNSNews.com that he would allow the online gambling, he added, "But allowing them (US residents) total freedom to take on economic obligations that spill over into the broader society, or have a house in a neighborhood, which when they go bankrupt becomes a fire hazard for their neighbors, we're well beyond, the impact goes well beyond the individual."
