Many wondered if PartyGaming had taken a blow when one of their founders, Anurag Dikshit, plead guilty in the US to breaking online gambling laws in the country. The online casino company claimed at the time that it would have little effect on their ongoing settlement negotiations with the US.

Now, it appears that those negotiations may be nearing an end and that the company line might have been correct. New Chief Executive of PartyGaming, Jim Ryan, has come out and said that "good progress" is being made towards a settlement.

"We believe there will not be any criminal plea against the company or any of its former directors," said Ryan, when asked about the current state of the negotiations. In his plea deal, Dikshit agreed to pay a $300 million fine for violating the law.
