Antigua's Finance Minister, Dr. Errol Cort, flew to Washington DC this past Tuesday for what he hopes is the last meeting with United States Trade Relations (USTR) representatives, regarding online poker and Internet gambling negotiations related to the court case Antigua brought and won against the USA at the World Trade Organization (WTO), reports the Antigua Sun.

The trade dispute at the WTO began in 2003 when the tiny Caribbean island nation of Antigua and Barbuda filed their case with the WTO against US violation of the GATS treaty they had signed when they became a WTO member, protesting that the United States was protecting US-based gambling by attempting to block US residents from doing business with Antiguan online gambling sites. The WTO agreed and awarded the case to Antigua.
