The state of Kentucky and their governor, Steve Beshear, have begun an all out assault on online casinos. Beshear has seized the rights to 141 domain names of online casino sites.
That creates what seems to be a conflict of interest for the governor of the state since his in-state horse tracks allow gambling online.
Florida horsemen have negotiated a deal with two racetracks in Miami, Gulfstream Park Racing and Casino, and Churchill Downs Inc. owned Calder Race Course that would allow races at the two tracks to be accept wagers through online betting services. Churchill Downs in Kentucky has not yet made this agreement, although they are currently negotiating with horsemen in their state. Should they reach a similar agreement, it would leave the governor to defend online gambling, something he is currently attacking.
