Well, that just about does it for casino gambling in Wyandotte County — and Kansas.

The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino proposal is kaput after developers last week buckled under collapsed credit markets and withdrew their state casino application.

The Hard Rock partners say they’ll re-apply in an expected do-over next year of the application and selection process. That remains to be seen.

A few days earlier the county’s Unified Government threw The Woodlands under the state’s sputtering gambling bus.
