Nets/Blazers

In a night where the Nets could’ve proven that they were a reliable NBA sports betting pick, they were trampled by the vengeful Boston Celtics. Vince Carter, one of the leagues top scorers, was held to 1-of-10 from the field for a total of four points. Way to show up in prime time, Vince. Devin Harris did all he could but still turned the ball over six times in an embarrassing 32-point thrashing from the defending champions.

Now the Blazers, also coming off a bruising loss to the smoking hot Philadelphia 76ers continue their Eastern Conference road trip. Portland has been brutal on the road, going 1-8 ATS in their last 9 games away from home. But an encouraging betting stat comes from the fact that New Jersey’s last victory at home was over Oklahoma City where they won by only four points. Portland is bigger, stronger, far more talented and with VC slumping, Devin Harris can’t hope to keep this show rolling on his efforts alone. At home, New Jersey’s defense is ranked 24th in the league, and Brandon Roy is due for a bounce back effort as Portland blazes past the hapless Nets.

NBA Free Pick: Portland -2 (OVER)

Cavs/Bulls

In the shadow of greatness, the truly legendary rise to the occasion. And nobody in the league looks more ridiculous than LeBron James right now. Cleveland is putting up 12.5 more points than their opposition right now, and though the Bulls looked sharp against Toronto, I wouldn’t take that as a sign that they can cover an 8-point spread.

Derrick Rose blew up in the face of Toronto’s less than athletic back court last night, and will face a much stiffer defense tonight. With Chicago getting Luol Deng and Kirk Heinrich back, they’ll improve their 1-5 ATS record at home in the last 6 games. Just not with LeBron James honoring MJ the best way he knows how…by destroying his former team.

NBA Free Pick: LeBron -9 (UNDER)
