Default Kraft feels vindicated by Boston Herald apology

Robert Kraft picked up the newspaper at his home Wednesday morning and was happy to see the front-page headline in big capital letters:

``SORRY, PATS''

The Patriots owner felt vindicated by the Boston Herald's apology after a season - and offseason - of reports the NFL's most successful franchise of the decade had spied on opponents.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell found no more wrongdoing by New England, which had been punished for taping New York Jets coaches in the 2007 season opener. Former Patriots video assistant Matt Walsh produced no tape of a St. Louis Rams walkthrough before the 2002 Super Bowl while meeting with Goodell on Tuesday.

Do you think that there really are more tapes, or do you think that's just people trying to bring the Patriot's name down? I honestly have no idea, but I think that if they did it once, it's possible they did it again.

I don't trust the Patriots...but I'm a fan of Tom Brady as a football player. True Team Leader

As they say "Once a cheater, always a cheater." Okay, that usually goes for relationships, but I think that it fits here too. I wouldn't doubt that there are more tapes than what they are letting on, but who knows?

I honestly don't know, but I think it's probable. There's no way I would trust them, that's for sure. I think that they have talented players, so I don't even know why they would think they need to cheat in the first place.

Exactly. I can see why they got the apology though. As long as there is no proof of the allegations, there's not much anybody can do about it.

I was disappointed when I heard fresh rumors about their videotaping. But I don't like it when people jump to conclusions...especially the media, but they do it all the time. At least they can say there is no proof and it's still hopeful they learned their lesson the hard way.

Yes, the media did (and often does) jump to conclusions about what was going on, as have many sports fans. I feel like sometimes it's warranted, but in this case I'm not sure. I guess this is something that will continue to weigh on a lot of fans' minds now though.

At this point they might actually have decided to "lay low", so they won't be doing anything in the wrong anytime soon. I think it's possible at least.
