Icon27 Seahawks Fan Chiming In On His GM

After selecting Curry in the first round to play the spot vacated by Pro Bowler Julian Peterson Seahawks GM Tim Ruskell took the franchise tag OFF the other Seahawks LB Leroy Hill.

Ruskell said the team intends to continue negotiating with linebacker Hill on Sunday night and Monday morning.

Ruskell said the franchise tag was withdrawn because it had become an impediment to reaching a long-term deal. He was asked if Hill was upset at the team's decision to withdraw the franchise tag. Ruskell referred the question to coach Jim Mora, who said he spoke with Hill on Sunday morning. He said that Hill might have been a little shaken up, but still expressed a desire to get a deal done with Seattle.
    WTF are you thinking Timmy?

The franchise tag required a one-year tender that would pay Hill $8.3 million. Hill could have signed the tender and been guaranteed that salary for the 2010 season.

What's wrong with payin Leroy his $$$ ??? Why lose him on the open market.

Can't you just see the AMAZING LB Corps in Seattle? Curry - Tatupu - Hill ???? All great in their own way? And easily the top LB Trio in the NFL...bar none! (2 w/ superbowl starts on their resume)

I can only hope as Leroy Hill said the other day

I'm "very motivated" to stay with the Seahawks
    Is a true statement.....!!!!

My rant on the ineptitude of the Seahawks GM Tim Ruskell

MEMO TO TIM RUSKELL. Don't you remember how you lost FUTURE HALL OF FAME GUARD Steve Hutchinson to the Vikings with their Poison Pill deal a couple years ago???? With that moronic "Transistion Tag" BS. OMG...that's 2 strikes on YOU if we lose Hill!!!!

Free-agent linebacker Leroy Hill is "very motivated" to remain with the Seahawks, coach Jim Mora said.

You got your wish...Hill re-signed with Seattle according to Sam Wyche of NFL.com

    6yr - 38mil of which 15.5mil is guaranteed.

    Good move by the Seahawks.

His signing allows the Seahawks to retain what in my opinion is NOW the strongest linebacking trio in the league. A trio that also includes Pro Bowl veteran Lofa Tatupu and Aaron Curry, the fourth player selected in Saturday's first round of the NFL draft.

BTW what's not to like about this guy eh?

Aaron Curry was a great pick, as his the type of player that can help anchor a defense for the next ten seasons.

The Seahawk's defense seems ready to be a force in the NFC West with this latest signing and a solid draft.
