Baltimore Ravens vs. Houston Texans
John Martin

Martin’s Sunday NFL Free Play: 1 Unit on Baltimore Ravens Pk

The Baltimore Ravens keep proving their naysayer’s wrong week in and week out. The Ravens will carry their momentum into Houston Sunday against a Texans’ team that is without their starting QB. Matt Shaub was badly injured in a loss to the Vikings last week that will keep him sidelined for at least a month. Baltimore sports one of the best rush defenses in the league, and Houston will need to try and run the ball to take the pressure off backup Sage Rosenfels. That’s simply not going to work against this Ravens’ defense. Head coach Gary Kubiak’s team will be looking to snap a 0-5 ATS skid vs. good rushing defenses yielding 90 YPG or less. The Ravens are yielding just 64 rushing yards/game and 2.8 yards/carry. Baltimore is 25-12 ATS in their last 37 games following a road win.

Ravens’ QB Joe Flacco grew up last week with a 14-point come-from-behind win over the Cleveland Browns. His team has his back knowing that Baltimore finally has a proven QB under center and it’s about time. Baltimore still has one of the best defenses in the league, but several experiments with a handful of QB’s have not panned out. This experiment has, and Flacco is making the most of his opportunity. The Texans are hemorrhaging 26.6 points/game on the season and Baltimore will continue to light up the scoreboard Sunday, while holding backup QB Rosenfels and the Texans’ offense in check.

Cash in with Baltimore as the favorite.
