| Green Bay Packers 2007 Record: 13-3 ATS: 12-3-1 Super Bowl Odds: 18-1 The Packers had a breakout season in 2007 not only in the win column but with bettors as well. Green Bay finished the regular season with a 13-3 record, including the best ATS record in the entire NFL. Their defense proved to be strong up front, with a very deep rotation of the defensive lineman and a solid core of linebackers. Their passing attack was one of the deepest in the league, with Donald Driver, Greg Jennings, James Jones, Ruvell Martin and David Lee all making contributions. Late in the year Ryan Grant emerged as the stud starting RB – gaining over 900 yards in the final eight games of the regular season. However, a repeat 13-win season is far from a good bet this year. The team didn’t make any big moves, instead keeping with the stead-as-she-goes approach. The biggest change of course is losing Brett Favre to retirement. Aaron Rodgers will be the new QB this season, and as he goes, so goes the Packers. Green Bay gets no favors from the schedule this year, as they draw the AFC South. If Rodgers can play well enough, limiting turnovers, the Packers should be able to squeeze into the playoffs. The Packers have enough talent around the starting QB that he will not need to be Favre-like for them to compete. The Packers had a 12-4 o/u record in 2007 including a 7-1 mark on the road. The offensive line is very good and continues to get better inside. The continued success of the hard-changing Grant should give Rodgers enough time on offense to settle in and lead the attack. Their defense, while vulnerable at times to the deep pass, should keep games close enough to give the Packers a solid chance of another NFC North title.
